VENOM Black Metal (What can you say about an album that named an entire genre? Legendary 1982 UK 10-track LP by the wholesome chaps of Venom, which sees Cronos, Abaddon & Mantas [known as Conrad Lant, Anthony Bray & Jeffrey Dunn to their Mums]take metal to a whole new level [or should that be depth?] as they plunge into the fires of hell & re-invent Metal for the Muthas. This, their second album, is cited as perhaps the most important influence in the development of black metal, thrash metal, death metal and other related styles that are often grouped under the extreme metal umbrella. With a nice embossed picture sleeve adorned with a horned goat on the front & the chilling warning 'Home Taping Is Killing Music - So Are Venom' on the back and complete with foldout poster and lyric inner. The sleeve displays some mior general wear, the insert is clean, the poster has never been displayed and the vinyl has only light signs of play - do you dare not to buy it? NEAT1005) Tracklisting: Black Metal To Hell And Back Buried Alive Raise the Dead Teachers Pet Leave Me In Hell Sacrifice Heaven's On Fire Countess Bathory Don't Burn The Witch - At War With Satan (Introduction) VENOM In League With Satan (Very rare 1981 UK debut 7" vinyl single that for some reason didn't get an awful lot of airplay at the time, also featuring Live Like An Angel, Die Like A Devil, great picture sleeve with their familiar goat's head pentagram on the front & a nice picture of the lads relaxing by paddling at Whitby Bay on the back. The sleeve displays only slight edge wear and signs of handling, with no splits or rips, and the vinyl has minimal signs of play. A really nice example of this hard to find pressing NEAT08) Tracklisting: In League With Satan Live Like An Angel, Die Like A Devil VENOM Manitou (Rare 1984 UK limited edition 'horned man' shaped 7" Picture Disc single, also including Woman, housed in a PVC sleeve. This copy has just a slight 'tea-stained' discolouration due to age, and caused by overheating during themanufacturing process, this is relatively common in picture discs from this period, but this does not affect the sound quality. The playing surface has only light cosmetic marks on one side, from being stored in the sleeve, otherwise shows minimal signs of play NEAT43) Tracklisting: 1. Manitou 2.
