A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

CANNONBALL ADDERLEY Somethin' Else (Very rare circa 1959 issue of the 1958 US 5-track deep groove mono LP on the 'West 63rd - NYC' address label, with 'INC' & 'R' lettering, raised edge, 'RVG' stampers & 'ear' markings in the run-outs,housed in a heavy duty pasted laminate sleeve with 'West 61st' address on rear. One of many Blue Note classics, this is a particular standout as it includes not only Cannonball's but some of Miles Davis' best work, who appears here along withHankJones, Sam Jones & Art Blakey. Autumn Leaves & Love For Sale are among the most beautiful & contemporary renditions ever recorded! A simply must-own for the jazz fan, see 'more info' for further details... BLP1595)

Tracklisting: 1. Autumn Leaves 2. Love For Sale 3. Somethin' Else 4. One For Daddy-O 5. Dancing In The Dark Personnel : - Miles Davis : Trumpet Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley : Alto Saxophone Hank Jones : Piano Sam Jones : Bass Art Blakey : Drums This incredible rarity comes from a one-previous owner collection of jazz LPs that were purchased in the UK at the original time of release. Label Design: - With 'Inc' & 'R' lettering after 'Blue Note'. Deep groove with '47 West 63rd - NYC' address. This beautiful second variant collector's copy was pressed just after "Blue Note Records" became an incorporated company & a registered trademark. The same fine sound as the 47W63rds pressings without the 'INC' and 'R' on the labels is present. We have play tested this record & the sound is immense, there is no doubt about that. This copy must come from an early batch of the second run with stampers originating from the same Matrix/ mothers as the original 47W63rds previously mentioned. A combination of Van Gelder's sound engineering & Plastylite pressing [with or without the 'R'], this is well & truly the 'golden age' of highest quality, Blue Note pressings. Condition : - Obtained from a one previous owner collection, with all records bought in England from new as rare exotic imports at the time, the heavyweight pasted laminate sleeve is in beautiful shape. Clean, with rich, vivid colours & all text clearly legible, there is just the faintest few spots of chipping to the paper at a few edges to show with age. This is very minor, & otherwise the sleeve easily meets an excellent condition grade. The colours of the labels are bright and vivid with no tears to the print. There is a 'deep groove' visible both sides & a raised edge. From a collector's standpoint, a flat edge is more desirable but in terms of sound quality there is little between a flat & raised edge pressing of these original monos. There are some very light spindle marks to indicate play but nothing of any real consequence. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned on a Matrix machine and has come up looking sparkling. It was already looking amazing prior to the clean! Under a bright light, there is just a little light axial wear to indicate handling in the past. Upon play testing both sides, we can confirm this one sounds truly astonishing. Wonderful stuff & easily in the 'excellent' condition bracket, we have to say there really is no other way to own this - you've got to get a first pressing mono to hear the difference... This Blue Note release is an acknowledged masterpiece. It should not be missing from any jazz or serious music collection for that matter. Trust us, you won't be disappointed!
HERBIE HANCOCK The Herbie Hancock Trio (1977 Japanese only 5-track vinyl LP featuring the stellar line-up of Herbie on Acoustic Piano, Ron Carter on Bass & Tony Williams on Drums, picture sleeve with illustrated Japanese insert & obi-strip. There is some noticeble foxing to the front & back of the sleeve with just a minor crease to the bottom right corner, however the vinyl appears barely played! 25AP650)

Tracklisting: 1. Watch It 2. Speak Like A Child 3. Watcha Waitin' For 4. Look 5. Milestones
SHIRLEY BASSEY Best 20 (1970s Japanese only 20-track purple & tan EMI label LP, pasted picture sleeve complete with a fold-out lyric insert and silver obi-strip. The sleeve has only minimal wear whilst the vinyl is in 'near as new' condition withvery little signs of play EMS-90025)

Tracklisting: 1. Goldfinger 2. In Other Words 3. People 4. What Now My Love 5. I've Got You Under My Skin 6. No Regrets 7. Charade 8. What Kind Of Fool Am I 9. Moon River 10. I Could Have Danced All Night 11. Love Is A Many Splendored Thing 12. The Days Of Wine And Roses 13. Till 14. If You Love Me 15. Somewhere 16. A House Is Not A Home 17. Where Or When 18. The Lady Is A Tramp 19. Cry Me A River 20. I [Whp Have Nothing]
