A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

NEIL ARDLEY A Symphony Of Amaranths (Very rare British Jazz masterpiece 1972 UK 8-track stereo LP. The first half is devoted to the title piece, an extraordinary original composition by Ardley devoted to the greats; Duke Ellington and Gil Evans, written for large ensemble including Don Rendell, Stan Tracey, Henry Lowther, Harry Beckett, Jeff Clyne & Jon Hiseman. The second side sees the words of Edward Lear, W. B. Yeats, James Joyce, Lewis Carroll put to music - Ivor Cutler narrates 'The Dong With A Luminous Nose', worth the price of admission alone, and Norma Winstone's delivery on 'Will You Walk A Little Faster' is just lovely! See 'more info' for condition details... SLRZ1028)

Tracklisting: A Symphony Of Amaranths: A1 Carillon A2 Nocturne A3 Entracte A4 Impromptu B1 The Dong With A Luminous Nose B2 After Long Silence B3 She Weeps Over Rahoon B4 Will You Walk A Little Faster? Don't be too alarmed by the 'G' grading. Let us explain… First of all, there is nothing to worry about as regards to the textured sleeve. There is only light creasing evident, the spine is perfectly legible, the print unblemished and the condition overall is excellent. Now, on to the vinyl… The 'G' grade is based purely on visible surface marks. This is not a record that has been overplayed as such - spindle wear is not excessive and play back reveals little in the way of distortion. In fact, the sound quality of the music is superb! Certain passages, particularly towards the latter half of both sides, are almost near mint. What is noticeable are a number of surface scuffs which do not clean off. The record has been professionally cleaned through a Matrix, meaning surface noise is kept to a minimum. However, there are some scratches that do sound and produce the occasional click and light crackle. If you are looking for a mint copy then this is not it. But... we feel the occasional surface noises (most evident at the beginning of both sides) do not spoil the record; the music is so lush that it can be forgiven. Still very much in demand and with no CD or vinyl re-release on the horizon any time soon, perhaps due to copyright issues, this makes for a serviceable filler copy for your collection at a fraction of the 'mint' price. More so, this is one of the best Brit jazz releases from the period - if you've seen the BBC's British Jazz documentary from a few years back, you'll know this is the record Gilles Peterson holds up to the camera as if to say, 'you must own this one'!
ROLLING STONES Stones Story 3 (1976 Dutch 30-track double vinyl LP - a wonderful compilation from the rock legends, featuring the hits Route 66, Around And Around, One More Try and more. Housed in a front laminated gatefold picture sleeve which has some minor edgewear otherwise superb, the vinyl is in excellent condition with only a couple of light surface marks - great copy of the over 35 year old release)

Tracklisting: 1. Stupid Girl 2. My Obsession 3. Under The Boardwalk 4. Stoned 5. Pain In My Heart 6. Ride On Baby 7. Back Street Girl 8. Miss Amanda Jones 9. Route 66 10. Empty Heart 11. She Said Yeah 12. Doncha Bother Me 13. Fortune Teller 14. Goin' Home 15. Complicated 16. Think 17. 2120 South Michigan Avenue 18. My Girl 19. It's Not Easy 20. Can I Get A Witness 21. What To Do 22. Around And Around 23. Poison Ivy 24. Who's Been Sleeping Here 25. Pleas Go Home 26. Blue Turns To Grey 27. One More Try 28. Cry To Me 29. You Better Move On 30. The Spider And The Fly
ROLLING STONES Sticky Fingers (Mid 1970s US second issue of the classic 1971 10-track vinyl LP, complete with picture inner, in the Andy Warhol designed, side opening, picture sleeve with working brass zipper. This copy has managed to remain factory sealed [with small deletion punch hole] from new in its tracklisting stickered shrink, so remains mint & unplayed COC39105)
