|Simply Red released their debut album 'Picture Book' in 1985 to critical acclaim, thanks in part to the hit singles 'Money's Too Tight (To Mention)' and 'Holding Back the Years', which topped the US charts. The album went on to achieve platinum status around the world and propelled the band to stardom. The follow up albums; 'Men and Women' & 'A New Flame' enhanced their career with a string of hit singles on both sides of the Atlantic. But it was the bands fourth album the multi platinum selling 'Stars' that made them a household name and lodged itself at the top of the album charts for 19 weeks. It was a further four years before the next full length album emerged. 'Life', spawned their first number one single, 'Fairground'. A 'Greatest Hits' collection was released in 1996 and helped the band become the UK's biggest selling artist of the 90's. Although not as well received by the critics as their predecessors, the next few albums were big hits with their ever increasing fan base and it wasn't until 2003's 'Home' that the critics began to sit up and take note once again. With over two decades of fantastic music to choose from there is no shortage of back catalogue rarities, amazing memorabilia and quality collectibles all available right here in our specialist Simply Red collectors stores.
