The Stylings Of Silver - West 63rd 'r'

HORACE SILVER The Stylings Of Silver (60s US issue of the 1957 6-track mono LP, also starring Art Farmer on Trumpet, Hank Mobley on Tenor, Teddy Kotick on Bass & Louis Hayes on Drums. The labels appear to be the first 'deep groove' pressings with the 'West 63rd' address both sides but there is a 'r' registered trademark by 'Note' on the Side One label only, indicating a Liberty re-release? The early 'ear' etching is in the run-outs both sides along with the 'RVG' stamper. The pasted picture sleeve is what looks like a sturdy first batch press, & has been historically tape reinforced along three edges. The cover grades Very Good, with some discolouring & a few small pen swiggles to a back corner, with all text legible. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & grades Very Good with some spindle wear & the odd light hairline mark not upsetting play. There is a raised edge before the run-ins & playback is exceptionally good! BLP1562)
