Tracklisting & More Information

The first three issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow & black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text & retained the small '33 1/3' after the matrix number of the first two pressings. The second yellow & black removed the small '33 1/3' print.
This is therefore technically the fifth issue, still from 1963 and still with matrix numbers ending -1.

The Labels:
Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter & 'Recording First Published' label text. As this is a 1963 pressing there is no 'Sold in the UK' text across the centre of the label.

The Sleeve:
The Ernest J. Day flipback sleeve has the large block 'mono' logo on the front & benefits from crisp, clean laminate & rich colours. All text is clearly readable.
There is a little creasing evident and a small amount of edge wear but nothing significant. The flipbacks are secure & undamaged & the spine looks strong & clear. Obtained from its one previous owner, a keen Beatles fan in her teens, the back slick has the various names of Paul, John, George & Ringo penned next to the tracklist & doesn't spoil the print in our view. This is otherwise a Very Good example of a such an iconic sleeve.

Vinyl:
The vinyl retains a deep sheen on both sides, having received a nice professional clean on a high end Matrix machine. There is a little spindle wear on the labels & a few light surface hairlines to show for over half a century, which have no effect on play. The vinyl grades VG+ with Excellent playback on a mono playback setting. The 'Use Emitex' inner is the correct poly lined variant.

An iconic classic from the Fabs that should be in every record collection.
