CLIFF RICHARD & THE DRIFTERS Cliff (Very rare 1959 UK first issue 16-track mono LP on the dark green & gold Columbia label, pressed on heavyweight vinyl with sturdy front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve displays minimal wear withthe lightest age yellowing to the reverse, whilst the vinyl is Near Mint. A fantastic example! 33SX1147)

Details
Recorded live in front of a few hundred invited fans on February 9th & 10th 1959, this was the first LP release by Cliff & The Shadows, with 'The Drifters' name lasting just a few singles and this LP before they became The Shadows we all know today.
A brave move for a debut album, but a more 'party' atmosphere was injected into otherwise familiar songs, making it probably the first true British Rock & Roll record.
The newly christened 'Cliff' was just eighteen at the time.
