MILES DAVIS Kind Of Blue (Beautiful & historic 1959 US first stereo issue of the undisputed classic 5-track LP, on the deep groove 'six eye' Columbia label. Towering well above its peers, an album to end all jazz albums! This is the very rare original US pressing with uncorrected speed (1AA/1BB Matrices), the wrong track sequence for the second side (Flamenco Sketches first, All Blues second), & Cannonball Adderley's name misspelled as 'Adderly' on the cover. Condition : -

The pasted picture sleeve, complete with original Columbia printed inner bag, has survived over half a century in very nice condition. The colours are still bright & vivid & both sides remain clean, with clearly legible text all over. There is the beginnings of cracking evident at the spine, a certain degree of shelfwear & some minor age darkening to the back, but nothing that affects the overall 'feel' of the piece. The edges reveal only the lightest signs of wear with a little creasing evident at the corners, but again nothing severe.

The matrix numbers in the trail off are machine stamped 'XSM47326-1AA' & 'XSM47327-1BB', denoting a first issue with uncorrected speed and track sequence.

The heavyweight vinyl is super clean & plays like a dream with minimal surface noise & no distortion. The vinyl remains in excellent condition, showing few signs of play & we can not recommend this highly enough! Simply wonderful... akin to the Holy Gail, the Grand Canyon, the Mona Lisa... pure aural ambrosia.
