VARIOUS The Trombones, Inc. (1977 Japanese promo sample issue of the 1959 11-track stereo LP, recorded in New York and LA over several sessions in December 1958 and featuring no fewer than twenty seven leading trombonists of the day assembledon two coasts. Like many record company gimmicks back in the day, this was packaged as a shoot-out between East Coast and West Coast bonemen, earning a rare five star review in Downbeat. This copy is complete with Japanese insert, picture sleeve reproducing the original album artwork & 'Jazz Forever Excellent 2' series obi-strip. The sleeve shows a fair degree of age yellowing but the vinyl remains near 'as new' P-7540W)
