More Details
This was the first time that the Bluesbreakers album had been released in Stereo, the Mono album having been issued in 1966 just days after Eric Clapton had left the band to form Cream.

Decca were notoriously chaotic about their label and sleeve use and several combinations of type face and design can be found. What identifies this as a second, is the use of a Mono/Stereo punch hole on the sleeve.

The first issue had no die-cut on the sleeve, these were introduced not long after the first stereo release and continued through to the boxed label, but were themselves phased out with the end of Mono.

The sleeve on this example as mentioned has the indicator and also has the mono & stereo catalogue numbers both printed on the spine, and includes the poly lined blue company sleeve.

The label is printed with the speed and Side annotation printed to the left of the spindlehole while on the right is the catalogue number and the master tape number the correct way up [instead of upside down as on earlier pressings] and without curly brackets.

All labels were the non-grooved variety without tax code.

Condition
The sleeve is in nice condition with only a little general shelfwear & minor discolouration in places, mostly to the unlaminated back and with light sticker residue to the front along with a couple of light pinchmarks to the spine but all in all a very respectable example.

The vinyl also remains in excellent condition with minimal signs of play.

A very nice copy of this rare second stereo issue.
