The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady - Sealed

CHARLIE MINGUS The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady (2011 US 2-track SA-CD album issue, originally released in 1963 this was his first LP for Bob Thiele's fledgling label Impulse, after moving from Columbia, which highlights his compositional talent with a good portion of rhythmic variety to the melodiousness of his hero, Duke Ellington, and although Charlie Mariano's tenor saxophone is highlighted soloistically, it is really the varying timbres and changes in tempo that make the albuma sheer pleasure to listen to. Housed in a picture sleeve with punch hole through the barcode and still sealed CIPJ35SA)
