JAZZ AT THE PHILHARMONIC The Complete Jazz At The Philharmonic On Verve 1944 - 1949 (Amazing 1998 US 141-track TEN CD box set containing all of the fantastic JATP LPs released on Verve, Clef, Norgran & Mercury, a showcase for Charlie Parker, Roy Eldridge, Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins, Oscar Peterson, Illinois Jacquet, Hank Jones, Les Paul, Nat King Cole, Slam Stewart, Flip Phillips, Tommy Turk, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Shavers & more, with special guest appearances by Mary Lou Williams & Marjorie Hyams amongst others. This set includes the CDs in reverse print gatefold card wallet sleeves reproducing the original artwork, along with an extensive illustrated 224-page booklet, all mounted into a specially divided wooden base with black ash wood & perspex lid, measuring 7" x 5½" x 3". The delicate packaging is Excellent with just minor shelf wear & the contents are Near Mint. An incredible collection of some of the greatest names in Jazz let loose to soar over familiar themes in a way that would never be possible today)
