Please note that although it mentions Stuart Sutcliffe on the front of the sleeve he is not present on any of these recordings, having sadly died eight month's prior to these recordings being made. These were compiled from three sets recorded during the Beatles' last Hamburg residency in December 1962 with Ringo now a full member of the band.
Love Me Do had already been released and Please Please Me was in the can, so the blue touchpaper had been lit, although the rocket had yet to take off.
