RAY CHARLES Pure Genius: The Complete Atlantic Recordings 1952 - 1959 (2005 UK 8-disc Box Set, comprising 7 digitally remastered CDs encompassing his entire Atlantic back catalogue from 1952-59, with highlights including 'Mess Around', full-length version of 'Doodlin', a wealth of live recordings from 1958 & 1959, 8 tracks from 'Fathead: Ray Charles Presents...', Rehearsal Sessions with Ahmet Ertegun in 1953, Outtakes & Ray's Arrangement Suggestions For 'The Genius Of...' album plus BONUS DVD featuring 9 great performances from 1960 and an Interview With Ahmet Ertegun! Beautifully packaged in a textured '50s-inspired Record Player Case. The outer case has a little mild corner wear to the back corner of the lid and has just the odd cosmetic surafce scuff but is otherwise in excellent shape, in perfect working order and fully intact. The contents all remain near mint with disc #8 remaining sealed from new in its original shrinkwrap - a great collectable!)
