JIMI HENDRIX Electric Jimi Hendrix - Record Club Issue (Ultra Rare original 1968 UK Track records WITHDRAWN 9-track LP. This was scheduled for release solely to UK Polydor Record Club members in 1968 and was released as a 'teaser' album prior tothe forthcoming double album, Electric Ladyland that same year. Only a few hundred copies were ever issued before the album was shelved, apparently at Jimi's insistence as was unhappy with the whole concept.)

CONDITION

[SLEEVE]

An incredibly rare release and is in any Hendrix collectors top five most desirable items. We are delighted to offer this staggering rarity.

The unique picture sleeve has minimal ring wear or edge scuffing, with just some minor marks in places [presumably through over excited and anxious owners wanting to grasp an earshot of then new Hendrix material] The rear of the sleeve displays the corresponding minimal ring wear as the front. All titles are clearly visible & the spine is fully legible.

The sleeve was printed by Polydor records and not EJ Day of London, which were to become the printers for Electric Ladyland.

[VINYL]

The vinyl is in nice condition with just a couple of obvious surface scuffs & no distinct pops or clicks evident. There is minimal spindle wear & no writing or other defects to the label.

Matrix numbers;
Side 1: 2856002 1 Y//2 420 111
Side 2: 2856002 2 YA//1 168 - the first part has been hand-scored rather than machine stamped.

The sound quality is excellent with superb use of stereo spacing and balance, a set of landmark tracks that are a major part of Hendrix history and his legacy .

This is one amongst the best copies we have seen, as most are in poor condition and to offer such a rarity in a condition that is still of investment quality like this is highly unusual.
